Dutch rightist leader repudiates Breivik

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, July 26 (UPI) -- Dutch anti-Muslim leader Geert Wilders Tuesday denounced Anders Breivik, the Norwegian terrorist who praised him in his manifesto.

Wilders, who has been widely accused of racism, dismissed Breivik as a "psychopath and a madman," Radio Netherlands Worldwide reported.

"We are democrats through and through," he said. "The Freedom Party has never called for violence, nor will it ever do so. We believe in the power of the ballot box and the wisdom of the voter."

Wilders condemned Friday's Oslo massacre as an insult to the worldwide anti-Muslim movement.

Breivik "wants to work with al-Qaida. ... He longs to blow up cities, dreams of knights who mutilate themselves and of meeting his hero [Radovan] Karadzic," Wilders said, referring to the Bosnian Serb accused war criminal on trial in The Hague.
