Help Fund Chaplain Ray's Medical Breakthrough

I’m Veronica raising funds for my loving husband and best friend, Ray, who needs the perispinal etanercept procedure. This procedure reduces pain, spasticity, and improves speech, cognition and mobility. The treatment is at the Institute of Neurological Recovery, Boca Raton, Florida. Unfortunately, this therapy isn’t covered by insurance. We stumbled upon this medical breakthrough on YouTube.

 

This fantastic discovery inspired me to inquire about it. Filled with excitement and hope, I shared it with Ray. After we viewed the video, I stated, “We got to get you there!” We both believed that this was brought to our attention for a reason. Without a doubt, this was God's way of guiding Ray back to health.

 

His core is weak, so he’s unable to sit up on his own. With his inability to walk, the aide and I must transfer him from the bed to the wheelchair. He has been in several therapeutic environments to prevent cognitive and physical decline. As a result, he initiates conversations more, short-term memory has improved, and the left side is more mobile.

 

After four years of life at a standstill, pain, frustration and immobility, he's determined to overcome his disability. His perseverance shows through his personal growth and faith. Also, as his caregiver, it’s been heartbreaking to watch him struggle with performing tasks. He’s a Chaplain, a lover of people, and possesses an inspiring personality. I’m so used to him being active that his disability is still unbelievable.

 

God blessed Ray to be a people person with charisma, relating well to everyone. As a Hospice Chaplain and Church Elder, he misses serving the community and making a significant impact in the lives of others. His love and enthusiasm for people motivated them to transform into a better version of themselves. Oh, how he yearns to regain independence as much as possible to return to a life of serving others!
