Republican candidates have recently struggled to gain support of minority voters.
Election exit poll data presently shows Trump polling behind various other Republican candidates in regards to highest voter percentages from Blacks, Latinos and Asians.
Overall, President Trump received 26% of the nonwhite vote, but George W. Bush received more at 28%.
Interview with Southeast Missourian, stated on November 24, 2020
President Donald Trump found some success attracting the support of nonwhite voters in the 2020 election. So much, in fact, that early reports said he made history.
Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., affirmed Trump’s gains with the minority population in a Nov. 24 interview with the Southeast Missourian. “The president got the highest percentage of minority votes of any Republican candidate for president in over 100 years," Blunt said.
