Buddhists filed a complaint of the art of Face-up Buddha

 Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong, President of the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY), filed a complaint that we, all Buddhists, disagree to show the art of “Face-up Buddha” in Munich

Buddhist Networks filed a petition to German Embassy that we, Buddhists all around the world, disagree of the art of Face-up Buddha” because this shows the disrespect on the Buddha and they lack of knowledge of Buddhism.

 

On July 2nd, 2013, Dr. Pornchai Pinyapong, President of the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY), led the Buddhist Networks and youths, over 300 people, to file the petition that we protest the art of “Face-up Buddha” in Munich at German Embassy in Thailand.  This shows the power of protesting peacefully to stop ravaging Buddhists’ faith.

Dr. Pornchai unveiled that WFBY has got complaints from Buddhists all over the world that there is a Face–up Buddha show at Viktualienmarkt, an old market, in Munich, Germany.  Mr. Hans-Georg Küppers, Head of German Cultural Department, is responsible in this art show.  They have done it until this September.

Therefore, WFBY and Buddhist Networks and youths, over 300 people, agreed to file the complaint to the German Embassy in Thailand together.  Moreover, we informed the German Cultural Department to stop doing this thing as soon as possible because it is the art show which lack of the Buddhist knowledge certainly.  It also makes Buddhists unhappy and worried since they are showing the Buddha Image in the wrong way and with the disrespect manner.  It ravages the Buddhists’ feeling.

The German Embassy sent the representative to receive the compliant letter and will contact the German Cultural Department.  However, if the German Cultural Department neglects our petition, we will increase the mob level.
