Sandlin Cemetery
Crank Family Cemetery
Maggard Cemetery
History & Notes: This small multi-family cemetery was founded circa 1973, Lucy Collins appears to be the earliest burial, but is still growing with about 22 burials to date. Two stones contain no markings but all others are in fine shape. It also appears to have plenty of room for expansion in the future. Parking may be very limited.
This cemetery's actual name though does NOT appear to be set in stone, according to my research (reading recent obits) this place of final rest is referred to by various names depending upon the family whose relative just passed. This is reflected above.
Directions: The cemetery's location is also of much interest as it is located within the Gays Creek community which is an unincorprated part of Perry County. But due to a bizarre loop in Route 28 (Don Duff Scenic Highway) that begins in Perry crosses into the extreme southern portion of Breathitt Co. and then circles back into Perry the cemetery is actually located in Breathitt County. And since F.A.G. lists Gays Creek in Perry Co. only I was forced to choose the nearby hamlet of Barwick as the place. It is located directly across from a local eatery called R&F Dairy Bar (as of 07-22-17).
