I've been a customer since January 2005 and just had the absolute worst experience with their support. I updated a DNS A record via their online portal and it created a duplicate record instead. I called support to get it fixed (I can't delete the *.domain.com record) and they were all beyond incompetent. Once I was connected to a support "engineer", I emailed them (they only had gmail accounts) detailed information and included screenshots. They then deleted records I did not authorize to be deleted. Once these records were put back to their original IP addresses and propagated, Web Forwarding no longer worked; it still doesn't work. I wanted to make a complaint and was told to file an abuse report against my own domain. The "supervisor" was also no help and is the absolute last line of escalation. These folks make Tier 1 telecom support look like rock starts. If you want your stuff to work, look elsewhere.

We wanted to move our domain from them to another carrier. Did it before expired, went to use the Auth no. Didn't work, went back, said I would have to pay 68.00 to unlock domain cause it was now expired.

Our church has a domain with Register.com, currently our website has been down now going on 2 months. The person who originally set up the domain with register.com passed away in 2012. We have provided the multitude of paperwork they require so we can have access to the account as they request an ignorant amount of information, even providing them the death certificate has gotten us no where. But yet they take our money so we can keep our domain name. Currently have lawyers working on this as it is illegal to pay for something yet can not have access. PLEASE seek anywhere to obtain your domain name besides register.com!!! Crooks!!!

My email was down for over a week and I called customer service for help, to no avail (I repeated this about 5 times due to incorrect information and the transferring of my call to less helpful people. This is the most frustrating thing I've experienced with email since AOL. The degree of incompetence and blatant disregard for their customers' business affairs is unbelievable. Can we put a number or value on the loss - I know I'm losing business and it's unacceptable. I've received no explanation, no apology, no reasoning or even projected timeline for how long this will continue (intermittent service). But, I have been encouraged to purchased their tech service and assured that the service will surely rectify all my e-mail problems. I did and it didn't.

Ugh. In the past service was all done from Canada. All email was upgraded (not) and all the folders in MY folder do not populate properly. I have been paying for extra storage to keep records of Corporate, Municipal and medical injuries and other Fire Department records. I am working with the new third-party support who are great but can't solve the problem and no way to talk to register.com corporate support. All outsourced. My blood pressure is going up. The PDF, Excel and all legal doc did not come over to new email that no one notified me was happening. I contracted for the extra service so still working on it.

I have had my Biz emails down 3 weeks from their upgrade. I have talked to 17 Support Mocking-birds who all have said they found the error & it will work in 2 hours. It has not! A Supervisor was to call me back twice & no call. I hate being lied to and my emails are the way we make money. I have been with them 18 years and this is a terrible way to support long time customers! I wonder if I can sue them if I lose my Biz over this nightmare?

I am a 20 year customer of Register.com Hosting my email. I had nothing but issues over the past 5 years with email for my business, My email has been down now again for 3 days. This has cost me Thousands of dollars plus repetitional lost that I cannot recover. As many complaints that I see here I am very surprised that there is not some sort of class action lawsuit against them. Their stabilty with Web hosting and email hosting and customer service and support is BAD. This is the last straw this time with me. I am making the move. DON'T USE THEM. YOU WILL BE SORRY.

I am also one of those who has used Register.com for 20 years, and their "service" has been fine - when it works. For the past 4 days, my email has not been properly working and my business is suffering, horrendously. They blame it all on Microsoft. And there is never any attempt by the Register.com to keep us informed, in any other way. This is the most abysmal business ethic and effort I have ever experienced! And I have been in business for 50 years!

My company's website has been down for FOUR DAYS. I've called twice a day, each day, and every time Register assures me it will be back up and running in an hour. I've lost customers that I'll never get back. Take your business anywhere but here.

Going on a year trying to move a domain away from them. We make the request and the auth code never arrives. We call support and they have no idea what is going on. We ask for escalation and their L2 or managers won't even speak to us. One time their offshore person called me back and identified himself as being from another company. When I questioned him he became flustered and said "oh I said the wrong company." Ridiculous they are even allowed to stay in business.
