New mug released to help police dogs

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Washoe County K9 Partners released its latest mug Thursday, July 15 featuring a Washoe County police dog named Ava.

The mug shot fundraiser is designed to help pay for police dog supplies including bullet proof vests, eye wear, and vehicle equipment for police dogs in northern Nevada.

You can get a mug featuring Ava for a $10 donation.

“These K9′s are really ambassadors to our Community. We take them into the schools and special events such as the rodeo, shop with a sheriff, cops and burgers, stuff like that and they have a mug that has the exact dog they met,” said Dog Handler with the Washoe County K9 Unit, Deputy Brian Harris.

Each month a new mug is released featuring a new police dog.
